So the rumours are true
Apple are officially launching a 128GB iPad on Tuesday 5th of February (in the US - UK release date to come). Wow. That’s going to be one big-bellied piece of kit.
Almost identical to the fourth generation iPad, the new 128GB iPad can just hold more stuff that means more space for photos, music, films and all the things you love using your tablet for. The storage size of the thing is more akin to your PC, as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing Philip Schiller explained: ‘It's clear that customers around the world love their iPads, and every day they are finding more great reasons to work, learn and play on their iPads rather than their old PCs’. And Apple are making that increasingly possible.
They’re certainly looking to hypnotise the business market – primarily - with this latest product: ‘With twice the storage capacity and an unparalleled selection of over 300,000 native iPad apps, enterprises, educators and artists have even more reasons to use iPad for all their business and personal needs,’ Schiller continued. It’d be perfect for companies using large amounts of data like 3D CAD files, X-rays, film edits and music tracks.
It’ll be available in the standard black or white, for a suggested retail price of £639 for the iPad with Wi-Fi model and £739 for the iPad with Wi-Fi + Cellular model.
Now this is precision timing, Apple. The official announcement came as Microsoft unveiled its old-PCs-friendly Office 2013 packages. Ah well, we can’t blame them, can we? It’s survival of the slyest out there.
And we wouldn’t blame you, either, if you wanted to treat yourself to this latest advancement in Apple technology - indulgent though it may be.
